Hundreds of Arkansans are coming together Wednesday to help the people of Rwanda.

And for that, we'd like to induct them into Hero Central.

Wednesday is the One Day Without Shoes for Rwanda Barefoot Bash at the Heifer Village. Conway native and American Idol star Kris Allen will be there to speak about the cause, close to his heart.

Allen just returned from Rwanda, where he passed out shoes to children in need.

The event is a partnership with Tom's shoes, which regularly gives footwear to kids who don't have any.

The event was sold out.
